Hi, I'm Ruan.

By day I work as a Business Automation Engineer at True Group, an investment group in Stellenbosch, where I build and run AI agents for the finance, property and recruitment teams across the group and its property arm TrueProp. One recent build: an intake agent that reads a busy shared inbox and files every incoming document into the right folder, with a paper trail, before anyone has opened it.

Until mid 2026 I managed a restaurant in Bloubergstrand. Every Friday and Saturday during service rush, the phone would ring 30 plus times. Bookings, menu questions, delivery enquiries, complaints. Half of them we could not answer in time. Every missed call was a customer who probably went somewhere else.

I got tired of it. So I built an AI receptionist against that exact problem. It books the table, answers the menu question, takes a message for the manager. South African accent. Switches to Afrikaans if the caller starts in Afrikaans. It runs on a live demo line with a real pizzeria menu, and you can phone it today. It never ran on that restaurant's own line: I left before wiring it in, and I would rather tell you that than let you find it out.

So now I'm building it for other businesses. That receptionist agent is where most clients start, but it grew into something bigger: Receva is now an AI agency for South African business. The agent answers calls, web chat and WhatsApp around the clock, and on top of that we build specialist systems and back-office automations tuned to each business. Receva takes what proves itself in the corporate world and packages it for businesses like yours.
